  • Electrical stimulation - Infrared, ultrasound and electrical stimulation used to shape your body;

Electro-stimulation

Electro-stimulation is a simple method used to fight the loss of muscle tone and skin elasticity, the sagging of skin and the presence of cellulite.
It is based on the ability of delicate stimuli to contract muscles in a completely involuntary way, recreating the effect of an intense workout with the following advantages:

  1. Muscle contraction occurs without physical or respiratory fatigue and therefore the treatment can be carried out without any risk on the elderly, the unfit or heart patients.
  2. The technique contracts even the smallest muscles which are close to the skin surface.
    This enables both the client and the beauty therapist to work on what interests them the most, that is to say the appearance of skin. Even workouts struggle to contract these muscles because they are not voluntary muscles.

Massage with Lava Stones
(also known as Hot Stone Massage)

The practice of using hot stones for their therapeutic effect dates back to the origins of mankind.
It is said that in China, already up to 2000 years ago, hot stone therapy was used to improve the functioning of organs.

By positioning the stones on specific parts of the body, it was possible to diagnose and cure ailments, but apparently the stones were also used as a sign of good omen during ceremonies or were used as necklaces to protect and self-heal.

The rediscovery of their pyscho-therapeutic value occurred thanks to the commitment and passion of a therapist from Arizona.

The stones used contain quartz, calcium, coal, gold and other minerals. There are many different kinds of stones and their varying densities determine their ability to retain heat.
These are basaltic stones, each of which are hand-picked and smoothed down differently depending on their specific shape and weight, level of thermal conductivity and electro-vibrational energy.

These stones are of volcanic origin.

Benefits; Because these stones emit heat, the body registers:

  • an increase in vasodilation and blood circulation;
  • an increase of the metabolic rate;
  • less muscle pain and visible improvements in regulating the main systems of the body (cardiovascular, digestive and muscular);
  • tissues are well-drained, toned and smoothed;
  • a stimulating and detoxing effect which is both beneficial and relaxing.

Kembiki

Kem comes from the word “kengio” which means blinds masseurs.
Their blindness led them to develop a better sense of touch.
Bi comes from the word “bioplasm” which surrounds the body and penetrates it like a real “river of life”.
Ki means energy.
From the study of ancient oriental techniques (shiatsu), a famous physiatrist from Buenos Aires, Stellla Maria Sironi, invented this specific massage which involves deep tissue movements.

It is a massage which identifies the energetic blocks and releases these through connective movements.

Effects It improves:

  • skin vascularity;
  • viscero-somatic reflex;
  • the opening of the connective tissue network;
  • immune defences;
  • the nutrition of tissues, which improves thanks to muscle relaxation;
  • deep relaxation;
  • lymphatic and venous circulation;
  • It is an extremely relaxing massage

Aiurveda

Ayur from life.
Veda from knowledge.
This technique, which has been passed down from generation to generation within the Indian culture, is based on the principal of primordial energies.

When these primordial energies came together, they created the five elements: ether (space), air (gaseous), fire (radiant energy), water (liquid), earth (solid).

These primary energies form three vital energies: Vata, Pitta, Kapha.

Effects:

  • an increase in energy levels
  • improvement of one’s sleep
  • rebalancing of the nervous system
  • help in overcoming physical fatigue
  • delaying the ageing process
  • improving adaptability to sudden changes in temperature
  • headache relief

Californian massage

Its original name is “sensitive gestal massage” and was invented in Esalen, California, in the early ‘60s.
It is the combination of various techniques, but it is based on a Swedish massage which blends with Eastern movements, American Indian practices and the fundamental knowledge of breathing.
In Esalen, an ex-Indian reserve, a self-sustained institute was created in order to have a space which eliminated the chaos of city life.
Here several activities take place: sensorial perception activities, mediation, massages, dances, stretching, yoga and guided imagination.

Effects:

  • skin looks healthier due to an improvement in blood circulation and it becomes smoother and more luminous;
  • one’s perception of their own body improves
  • facial lines are more relaxed;
  • it has a calming effect;
  • breathing and digestion become more regular as does the venous lymphatic flow
  • it relieves stress

Linfodrenaggio

Lymph - a colourless liquid which flows through the lymph conduits
Draining - elimination of stagnant liquids

Doctor Wodder devised this technique in 1932.
This massage differs completely to the others.

The lymphatic massage must be slow and soft, starting with pumping movements.
Before starting this kind of massage, pumping pressure must be applied on the neck.
As a matter of fact, it is here that the lymphatic circulation flows into the blood circulation.

Therefore this preliminary movement is very important at the beginning as a lot of liquid is transported towards the point of arrival.

Effects:

  • it has an anti-oedematous effect (also before and after surgical interventions);
  • improves micro-circulation;
  • improves local immune system (acne or other bacterial colonies);
